When spring arrives in East Texas, so do the festivals!

If you love preserving history, then you must check out Historic Tyler's Annual Home Tour coming up on April 1 and 2.

Unique gifts and custom handmade accessories will be the highlights of the 2016 Azalea Arts and Crafts Fair at Bergfeld Park, offered by Tyler Parks and Recreation. The return of this special event is set for Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There's so much to see and do during the 2016 Azalea and Spring Flower Trails in East Texas that the fun stretches across three weekends. Check out what's happening this weekend below.

Blooming azaleas in Tyler and dogwood trees in Palestine and the smell of bbq on the square in downtown Tyler signify spring has arrived in East Texas! With everyone getting out of the house and enjoying the spring weather, there are plenty of activities and festivals to keep us busy just about nearly every weekend...

There are so many things to do in East Texas this weekend, but you'll want to be careful though because your outdoor activities could be ruined because of rain Saturday afternoon and evening and into Sunday.  The threat is there so be prepared if you take part in any of these East Texas activities this weekend.

With the arrival of spring last week, now's the time to get out of the house and take in many outdoor (and indoor) activities in East Texas. This weekend is no exception, you can get out and see blooming trees and flowers, take in a concert and even be a part of a charity event and more!

It's a rather quiet start to Tyler's Azalea & Spring Flower Trails this year thanks to winter temperatures that have hung around a lot later than normal. The blooms are just now starting to bud, but haven't opened up to display their beauty just yet. However, that doesn't stop the festival and the celebrating one of Tyler's natural beauties though.

Spring officially begins tomorrow and Friday ushers the start of the Azalea and Spring Flower Trails. Kick starting the trails, is the Rose City Artisans and Flower Market open at 10 a.m. Friday morning on the Grounds of the Goodman-LeGrand Museum in Tyler.
