We all have those movies that, no matter what bogus things are happening in the world, never fail to lift our spirits. For me, the most excellent way to put an easy smile back on my face, is to watch the Bill & Ted movies: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey (1991). Heck, the cartoons are even great.

For years, hard core fans have been hoping and wishing for a third installment in this beloved series. Although there was talk and buzz over the years, Hollywood being the way it is, there were lots of pauses along the way. But finally, the go-light turned green. When it finally became an official project, fans worldwide rejoiced. If somehow you've been in an alternate universe and this is the first you're hearing of this magnificent development, here's a quick vid from PeopleTV to give a bit of context:

They shot the film last summer in New Orleans and now they're putting the righteous finishing touches on the film to be ready for the August 21 release date. They're definitely teasing us with a soon-to-come teaser. Understandably, the process has been slowed due to this heinous pandemic. See? We really do need Bill and Ted to save the world.

To say that I admire writers Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson, and actors Alex Winter (Bill) and Keanu Reeves (Ted), would be an understatement. In addition to creating one of the most joy-inducing movie franchises ever, they are all actually just good people. Isn't that refreshing?

They've managed to create a warm community buzz around this film, and this recent invitation just amplifies this. Fans worldwide have a shot to make a very brief, but much coveted, cameo appearance in Bill and Ted Face the MusicHere's what you need to know:

The deadline is May 20, so you'll want to go ahead and jump on this or risk having to travel back in time via phone booth. They've provided a :30 track of music to which fans are encouraged to video themselves (and maybe others, too) playing guitar, broom, sitar, or even just air guitar-ing along to the track. Then, you'll upload your video at Partyonwithbillandted.com

Graciously, writer Ed Solomon has been answering FAQ's from fans on Twitter. I encourage you to follow him there to learn more. But also, just on general principle cuz he's great. Click ----> here.
