Tara’s Favorite Immunity-Boosting Smoothie [RECIPE]
By now we are all (hopefully) aware that what we eat has a profound influence on our wellness. Right now, many people are becoming more conscious of staying well and trying to do everything they can to wash their hands, stay home, and take all the precautions they can. Don't forget about the food.
Sure "quarantine snacks" are fine in doses. However, and I'm speaking to myself here, too, don't let those snacks became the mainstay. Whenever I want to boost my immunity "signal," this smoothie, sourced from page 75 of Marco Borges' 22 Day Revolution cookbook is a staple and incorporates some of the most renowned immunity-boosting foods such as citrus, turmeric, and ginger.
Immunity-Boosting Tropical Smoothie (One serving.)
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 frozen banana
1 kiwi, peeled
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 teaspoon probiotics powder (optional, but important)
1/4-inch piece fresh turmeric or 1/4 teaspoon ground
1/4-inch piece fresh ginger or 1/4 teaspoon ground
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, ground
1 large scoop ice
(Optional: a big handful of greens)
Combine all of the above in a high-powered blender until smooth. Enjoy asap. Yum. And your body will thank you.
