Mix 93-1 Teacher Of The Week March 26th

Mix 93-1 along with Half Price Books and Aspen Creek Grill are proud to recognize outstanding teachers from our East Texas classrooms!

This week's recipient is kindergarten teacher Sylvia Harris at Mineola Primary School in Mineola.

Ms. Harris was nominated by a parent who had this to say about her:

Mrs. Harris has been teaching for 23 years. Just by looking at her classroom you can tell she has a passion for what she does...there is a log cabin tree house in the corner of her room to give her students a quiet place to read. Next to the cabin is a big comfy couch. She does not have desks, she allows the children to learn in a way and space that is comfortable for them. Her lesson plans and learning environment are unique but effective and make learning fun for her students. Kindergarten can be a hard transition for some students, being it may be their first time away from mom and dad, but Mrs. Harris helps these first timers transition with patience and lots of love and concern for each of her students. She keeps in close contact with her student's parents/guardians, and is just an above and beyond teacher!"
